McHenry Museum
The McHenry Museum (the structure) has a history returning to 1912. In 1906 Oramil McHenry* kicked the bucket and his will left $20,000 and enthusiasm for three city parts for the communicated motivation behind developing an open library in the Modesto. The city was reluctant to start the library office until the probate of Mr. McHenry's will was finished. By 1911 every one of the pieces started to become all-good.
In July of 1911 the city opened offers for the new building and Robert Trost of San Francisco was low bidder. W. H. Weeks was picked as the designer and his arrangements for the library were distributed in the "Modesto Morning Herald" on August 3, 1911. Development started in January of 1912 and proceeded until culmination in April 1912.
